Ratheesh Sundaram
Born in 1978, Ratheesh Sundaram turned to photography in 2008, as a freelancer for various online
magazines. The self-taught photographer, who holds a post-graduate degree in history, joined The
New Indian Express in 2014 as a news photographer, and he quit the organization three years later as
a senior photojournalist, returning to freelance photography.
As a freelancer, Ratheesh has worked on several projects of social, cultural, and historical interest, like
the Chinese New Year celebrations in Kolkata, the Kodungalloor Bharani festival, the Armenian
Christians in India and an ongoing project on the widows of Vrindavan. An avid travel enthusiast,
Ratheesh has taken his camera to Germany, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, and Sri Lanka.
